First off, I must say congratulations on maintaining your poise and honesty on national television while looking for your soul mate. Myself, I was a blubbering idiot whenever I went to any kind of speed dating, so you have my utmost respect.

I must admit that when I heard about this reality show, I guffawed and had the worst first impression in my mind of what type of woman would agree to be the show's lead. Then you appeared: successful, gorgeous, with four kids and previous marriages. In short, you had the combination of looks, brains and experience. I could not have written a better fictional character short of Courteney Cox in her upcoming show.

OK, so the reason I am writing is twofold: First, I want to give you some advice as the show moves forward (yes I know the show is shot and in the can - and I have no idea how it all ends up - but heck, I can go to that place in my imagination where The Cougar is live, Soap is still on the air and Bob Dole won in 1996. Second, as a fellow quatrogenarian (though I still have three more months to say I'm Gary in Thirtysomething), I wanted to offer my perspective on the guys and the generation gap.

My advice: Airborne. Seriously, my lady, with all that kissing (and heaven knows guys in their 20s lack hygiene skills), you must protect your immune system.

That's about it when it comes to advice. You seem to have everything in control otherwise. Well, except for some of your choices.

Sure, Travis is a doorbell and will one day be good husband material, but with his Jeff Spicoli hair, he was negative-5 years old when Fast Times at Ridgemont High came out. I have nothing personal against Colt, especially as a fellow songwriter. But something tells me he is a cougar player, since he admits to dating a 61 year-old. You may be about 21 years too young: When his ex was your age, Travis was born. Perspective much?

Which brings me to which men I think are the most worthy of you.

Oh and did I mention Jon? When I was looking at all the guys' profiles, I saw Jon's and notated that he was the real thing. Look, he may have had a shockerama when you said you had kids and a couple of nuptials behind you, but he has the most stability of all of them. And sure, he might not have that TravisAdamJohnnyZacEfron youth fun you might be looking for, nor is he the most compelling Ryanish character on the TV, but I am pulling for him.

If not him, then David and Officer Nick would make a good Mr. Anderson.

But you know all of this - and I can see how you are keeping some of the guys around because, well, there has to be a whole season of this show and it is darn compelling to watch these young guys think your friends are old.

Oh, one more piece of advice: Sleep with Jimmy. He wants you, he has a ridiculous body and, well, he was born to be slept with. Then remember: never date an actor.

Unless he's Ashton Kutcher.

I abhor how the term "journalist" has been reduced to mean "snarky celebrity observations and dishy comments"

(and I am stretching it here by calling these poofs "celebrities").

BTW, what's up with your advice to "sleep with Jimmy"?

Hilarious observations! I've never seen this show, but I'm watching it vicariously through you.

Seems like Bill Carson doesn't know the difference between a journalist and a blogger. If he's looking for hardcore journalism, he may want to branch out and look somewhere besides the TVLand blogs.

This program looks like something that should be on a tabloid. It is not the standard I expect from TV Land. I thought your channel was geared to family programming. This is definitely not a family show. And on top of that it is disgusting to try and match up a woman with a young man that she could be his mother. What has happened to TV Land's morals??? I watched one session but refuse to watch any more. Give me a break!!!

Firstly, I do love the Cougar, being one myself I can totally relate. I am a single mother of one son I am 43 and prefer to date younger men. I am also looking for a long term relationship with a younger man as they can do several things for you:

Keep your vitality alive

Keep you energetic and, Keep up with you, if your energetic. I especially find that, too many men in their 40's (generally speaking) are what I call "Slouch potatoes" , they never want to get out for an adventure, try new things, as most of them are set in their ways, they do not have the stamina that most younger men have, as may be needed for adventures such as hiking, rock climbing and other such adventures not to mention the obvious reasons. Younger men also seem more eager to please the older woman, where as men in their 40's (generally speaking) still seem to think its all about them, don't you guys realize if you please your woman (emotionally and physically) they will bend over backwards to take care of you, and nurture your every need?

This whole excerpt was really meant as a response to Joe Amisano's blog about how disgusting the whole idea is, and that it is not a family network type of show... Well believe it or not Joe, it is a reality show and it is about making adult choices, all parties here are consenting adults, so what is disgusting about it? If your children are still up at ten o'clock at night maybe you should spend more time tending to the children, instead of being a "slouch Potato" surfing the tube.

I enjpy the show. I myself am 48 and am in a very good relationship with someone 22 years younger than me. I also have been married twice and have two kids. I am having the best time of my life right now. I am in love and very happy. Age doesnot defy your happiness with someone. It is albout chemistry and how you mesh with that person. You go Stacey I think it is great what you are doing. I will never be with an older man again.

Funny Sammy! Thanks for the laugh and the info about the show. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to start watching. I'm a cougar too. I'm 34, and my sexy hell of a man just turned 25. At first, we both had our own reasons for thinking we shouldn't date each other. To my surprise, we started to spend time with each other every day, just as platonic friends. We became best friends. We didn't become a couple until about six years after we first met. This is the best relationship I've ever been in. I'm totally in love with my best friend and age is not a factor. We feel so blessed to have found each other.

I find this show very interesting. In the beginning they rarely show the two black men with any one on one time with Stacey. I'm a little confused as to why these men have to come on a reality show to find a woman. David is so hot. He shouldn't have any problem finding a date.

Any bets on how many are gay and trying hide that. Of all the guys on the show I think Travis is the most gay. He is 21 one for crying out loud. What does he know about pleasing a woman who old enough to be his mother.

Mr.Sammy Buck , I totally agree with you that she should've picked Jon at first and if not him then Nick and if not him then Jimmy. I was hoping she would sleep with Jimmy also so bad. And I also agree and happy that she sent Travis home to his Mom. I do think that Jimmy will make excellent Husband material but on the other hand I'm not sure how he's going to be at Father material. So all I can do now is wait and (thats hard) see who she decides on and wish her the best of LUCK!

I only watched the last two episodes of the show. And I almost cried when she chose Jimmy. I think, of the men I saw, he was the right choice.

I am married to a man 17 years older than me. Hardly anyone thought that was strange when we got together 32 years ago. We've been happily married for 30 years.

So, why can't a woman be the older person in the relationship? I am sure she can benefit Jimmy as much as my husband has blessed me in our life together.

My only concern was the overnights...sleeping with 3 men in a row? I don't think that is necessary. You can certainly get to know an individual without sharing your body.

I hope Stacey has found true happiness, for her sake, Jimmy's, and especially her children.
