Those houses seem so close together. I'm glad no one was hurt. What a freak accident.
OK, y'all, I'll be honest. When I seen the thread, I wondered how a crane could destroy a house. I mean, they are such small birds. Then I opened the thread!! I lived near Galveston and had these in my yard all the time!

Terrible! Believe me that's what I was definitely fearing about a year ago when they were renovating the building behind where I live in to condos!! One day a big crane showed up and was lifting these HUGE metal girders over our building in to the yard behind us right over the top of our roof! It turns out they were built in to the back staircases on that building!
I have no idea why they had to do it from our street and couldn't from the other side of that block, but that was a pretty scary day!!

Looks like they were using it to remove that tree and had it over extended. Look at all the sawdust on the roof. I have a friend who works on those cranes. He isn't a operator, he works for a big crane supplier as a mechanic, goes all over the country.
