I have been a fan of American Idol, Survivor and Project Runway for years. So when TV Land approached SELF about partnering for their new model-search show, She's Got the Look, a centerpiece of their all-new original programming schedule, we were glad to get on board. It's a quality example of the reality genre, featuring interesting stories of real women with the goal of being their best selves, regardless of age or background. It's a perfect complement to SELF's encouraging message and positive, cheerleading, informative, inspiring voice. (SELF's message to our 6 million readers: You can do it, realize your dreams, change your life, be your personal best...and SELF is here to help!) That's exactly what I told a reporter at the fashion industry newspaper WWD during an interview about the show.

What was most exciting was the chance for SELF's expert editors to consult with the women in several episodes, both on their home turf (the downtown loft) and ours (SELF's offices at the CondeNast building);offering them the smart advice that we share monthly with our motivated readers and daily with our active online community at Self.com. You'll see our team throughout the series offering unexpected tips and simple how-to tools about fashion, beauty, fitness and stress relief . For example, which floral scent has been scientifically proven to reduce stress? The contestants loved the relaxation exercises we showed them. To learn for yourself, stay tuned.

So if you're in the market for a new favorite reality show, one that's compelling and uplifting, get hooked on She's Got the Look. It's all about uncovering real women who have the whole package; star quality, positive energy, inner strength and outer confidence. All 10 contestants are beautiful, smart, gifted. And as the drama unfolds, we learn their interesting personal stories and experience their fears and triumphs as they become their best selves inside and out. Their winning attitudes inspired me, and I know they will empower and motivate all viewers; whether you're 25, 35 or 45, or something in between.
