Goodbye, Kathy and Chickie (Season One)

I wish all of these women could stay on the board. I was very sad to see Kathy and Sharon go.

Kathy made the decision for herself over the judges' desires to see her move forward. She’s a natural beauty, easy to talk to, smart, warm… the typical girl next door. She needed to be home with her kids -- she missed them and they missed her.

In the end, Kathy put her family first and got a chance to live a piece of her lifelong dream, but quickly learned that all dreams aren't what they are cracked up to be. Sometimes in life you learn that you already have everything you could have hoped for.

Sharon "Chickie” Davis has stayed with me in both my mind and heart since the day we met her in L.A. However, Sharon’s competition results were disappointing to all of the judges. While she's a strong front runner when photographed alone, an important piece fades away when she's in a crowd. In the group shot, unfortunately, Sharon's magic disappeared.

Sharon is an inspiring, gentle, vibrant and loving person, in constant transformation and evolution, learning more about herself and people around her every minute she breathes. I miss seeing her face every day, but I know that there are lots of people that get to enjoy her smile, her warmth and her wisdom on the show. As she said, "I'm 63 years young… I won't stop pursuing opportunities that may be presented to me as a mature woman, and I'm OK."

We love you, Chickie Davis!

Hmmm … I just read some new comments -- response to Barrinotr -- Yes. I do remember that now. There’s this prayer: “God, if I can't have what I want, let me want what I have.” Paula’s got ambition, drive, & an awesome body to get her this far. She’s on a national TV show! That’s awesome and I’m happy for all the ladies. I feel bad about teasing Paula early on in these comments, the part of giving up my DRAMA QUEEN T for her … but that’s just me having fun. Lit’l NY flyin’ out.

Beauty’s a funny thing – try too hard, not hard enough … you don’t have to be the best looking as long as you deliver beauty & reliability … have a lot of fresh ideas to keep it going ... about relationships and making money.

One has to ask, “Am I doing the right thing?” So many people are chasing the wrong things in life and it shows on their faces, in their bodies. Life becomes more meaningful when you devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose. I think you have to ask yourself -- what you’re doing, “does it bring on more stress or peace?”

Look at the professionals who are hosting the show … they seem to be at peace (god knows what happens after the show! lol!); but, to me…they appear pleasant and into their thing or the moment. Either way, I would want all the ladies to win somehow … to keep following the heart if possible; it can be fun if they are able to pursue their passions, even after the show.

On a lighter note, I'd like to leave a quote to ponder on -- by former CEO of Coca-Cola, Brian Dyson: “Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends, and spirit - and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.”

It helps not to get soooo emotional over modeling...
